Two Championship Games Today!

images

The MTAC Varsity Championship games are today in White House, TN and you’ll recognize two of the teams that are in the finals. The Lady Trailblazers are playing against Riverside Christian Academy for the Conference Championship at 4:00pm and the Boys Varsity team is playing against Tennessee Heat for the Conference Championship at 6:00pm.

Please consider making the easy 45 minute drive down to 506 Hester Drive to cheer on these two teams. Bring as many of your friends and family as possible to support our players as they each go for their first ever championship!

Girls Camp with Mary Taylor Cowles

The camp with Coach Cowles has been confirmed for next week. Please meet at Phil Moore Park from 5:30-7:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We will not have the camp on Friday due to a previously scheduled game for the girls in Morgantown.

The cost for this camp is $30 per family. We look forward to seeing everyone who is planning on playing Lady Trailblazer games this season.

Thanks!

Girls Camp with Mary Taylor Cowles

Please contact me if you’re interesting in participating in a girls basketball camp with Coach Cowles during the week of July 25th at a location to be determined. We would meet from 5:30-7:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The cost would be $30 per family. If you know of any girls interested in playing this season, please invite them to this Trailblazers camp.

Thanks!

Girls Basketball Camp

The Trailblazers will host a Girls Basketball Camp, coached by Mary Taylor Cowles, at Phil Moore Park on July 27th, 28th, and 30th. The camp will run from 6-8pm each night. Coach Cowles was the head coach of the WKU Lady Toppers from 2002-2012.

There is no charge to attend and we hope that every Trailblazers girls’ team player will take advantage of this great opportunity. The camp is for grades 7 thru 12.

Please contact Joseph Kirkpatrick at 792-6049 with any questions.

MTAC Tournament Rescheduled

Good afternoon –

We have waited as long as we could for some hopeful weather reporting but as of now it looks like some of us maybe seeing even more snow/ice today and tomorrow. Again while we are all excited for this tournament, the safety of our student athletes is by far the most important aspect in consideration.

With this being said MTAC President, Scott Dorsett, MTAC Vice President, Reid McFadden, and my self have talked and find our best choice is to move the entire tournament to next week. This will make round 1 play on Tuesday, February 24, round 2 on Thursday, February 26, with the semi finals on February 27th and Finals on February 28th. The schedule will say the exact same just moving the games one week.

Unfortunately, due to this change Currey Ingram will not be able to host both Friday and Saturday. Because of this we will have to move all semi final games set for Friday, February 27 to the higher seed school. These games will all be set for a 5 PM start, with understanding that times can be changed if both schools agree on changed time.

Again, we understand this is not the ideal circumstance for everyone but we truly believe this is the safer choice and will hopefully allow for us to complete the entire tournament in one week.

If anyone has any questions or issues please let me know over the next few days to help us solve these issues before the 24th.

Thank you and stay safe,

Jena Smith
