Upcoming Basketball Events

Our annual player/parent game will be March 6th starting at 5pm at the Oakland Baptist Gym. Each team will play two quarters against the parents, starting with the 5/6th team, then 7/8th, then girls, then boys JV/V. Pizza, drinks and dessert will be served.

The annual basketball banquet will begin at 5:30pm on March 16th at Knights of Columbus, 911 Searcy Way, Bowling Green, KY  42103. Dinner will be served at 6pm. Remember to bring any uniforms and warm-ups, washed and bagged to have your deposit returned.

At the player/parent game, we will have a vote for a new committee member. Those serving in 2015-16 will be Carly Carey, Mike Carey, Janice Kelly and Joseph Kirkpatrick. There is one opening, so if you have a nomination for this position, please email it to committee@wkytrailblazers.com before March 6th.

Baseball practice

Reminder: We will be having practice tomorrow night (2/24) with group one starting at 6:00 followed by group two coming in at 6:45. As stated before enter through the double doors in the back. The owner has requested that nobody other than players are allowed to stay in the clinic during practice for liability issues, letting parents stay in the clinic during Saturday’s practice was a one time thing because of the weather and taking up money. Also we have stressed to all the players the importance of staying off the exercise equipment, we are asking you to remind your kids to stay off the equipment before you get to practice tomorrow and on future dates, we are lucky to be able to use this facility, we don’t want overstay our welcome by misusing the facility. We had a great practice last Saturday, lets keep this rolling. Two weeks until game time!

Boys Tournament Week Schedule

Now that the roads have thawed out, it’s time to do some traveling and play some basketball!

The MTAC Tournament will begin tomorrow. The boys’ varsity team plays at 6pm at Grace Christian. 3279 Southall Road, Franklin, TN 37064. Win or lose, this will be our only game in the MTAC Tournament.

Then we head north to play in the National Christian HomeSchool Championships in Indianapolis. The boys’ varsity team has their first game on Thursday at 6:45pm and will play on through Saturday. The boys’ JV team has their first game on Friday at 2:05pm and will play on through Saturday.

MTAC Tournament Rescheduled

Good afternoon –

We have waited as long as we could for some hopeful weather reporting but as of now it looks like some of us maybe seeing even more snow/ice today and tomorrow. Again while we are all excited for this tournament, the safety of our student athletes is by far the most important aspect in consideration.

With this being said MTAC President, Scott Dorsett, MTAC Vice President, Reid McFadden, and my self have talked and find our best choice is to move the entire tournament to next week. This will make round 1 play on Tuesday, February 24, round 2 on Thursday, February 26, with the semi finals on February 27th and Finals on February 28th. The schedule will say the exact same just moving the games one week.

Unfortunately, due to this change Currey Ingram will not be able to host both Friday and Saturday. Because of this we will have to move all semi final games set for Friday, February 27 to the higher seed school. These games will all be set for a 5 PM start, with understanding that times can be changed if both schools agree on changed time.

Again, we understand this is not the ideal circumstance for everyone but we truly believe this is the safer choice and will hopefully allow for us to complete the entire tournament in one week.

If anyone has any questions or issues please let me know over the next few days to help us solve these issues before the 24th.
