Announcement

Hello all,

Layne Holloway has decided to step away from coaching the Trailblazers this season. We all owe Layne a debt of gratitude for the 5 years of coaching that he volunteered to the Trailblazers organization. He has helped our players greatly through his gracious contribution to their development, as evidenced by three players receiving college basketball scholarships this season.

We will have a ceremony honoring Layne at some point during the upcoming season. Stay tuned for announcements regarding the coaching staff for 2016-17.

Game today!

Our game with Oak Ridge was rescheduled to today. Please reply and let me know if you are planning on being there today. The game is at 5pm at 2696 Oak Ridge Rd, Morgantown, KY.

Also, for any players who will be in Springfield with their families during the tournament, we will be playing some games as well. If you haven’t told me that you’ll be there, please let me know. We’re going to have some practices for that group between now and the tournament week.

Parents Meeting this Thursday at 6:30pm

A few parents have requested that we have a meeting in regard to the upcoming National Christian Homeschool Basketball Tournament in March. Please plan on sending at least one parent to the meeting where we will review the tournament information and answer any questions about the logistics or plans for the tournament.

We will meet this Thursday the 14th at 6:30pm at the WKU Research and Development Center at 2413 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101. Walk straight back to the door for the Small Business Accelerator. Please no children or players at this meeting…the facility has requested that we have adults only.

Thank you

National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championships

Hey everyone,
We will be missing the regional tournament this year due to a conflict with MTAC end of season tournament. So, I just wanted to give you all some information about the NCHC Tournament which we are planning to attend. The 25th Annual National Christian Homeschool Basketball Championships to be held March 7-11, 2016 in Springfield, Missouri. This is the largest homeschool event in the WORLD!

This happens to be the spring break for BG Technical College where some of the boys are enrolled in dual credit classes. This could be considered a spring break trip for them.

We need to know BY JANUARY 15th how many players can go as so we can make further arrangements and get them registered before Jan. 31. We also need to know what parents can go for the week as chaperons and/or carpoolers.

Here is some information from Rob Flatt about when we should be there:
Sunday night we have coaches meetings
Monday AM we begin the Boys 18u, Girls 18u, Boys 16u, Boys 14u, & Boys 12u Age Groups
Tuesday AM we begin the Girls 16u, 14u, 12u, 10u, & Boys 10u age groups.

Friday PM the Award Ceremony, All-American/All-Region Games, & 18u Undisputed National Championship Games are played.

I have reserved a block of rooms under Western Kentucky Trailblazers with my personal credit card. I called close to if not 40 hotels yesterday and most all were already booked. This is the best we could do, but still a nice hotel and not too far from Stadium and laundromat. I reserved 9 rooms that have double queen beds and 1 with a single king bed (which is taken for Layne). The hotel address is below. All of the rooms come with Free breakfast, fridge, microwave and coffee pot. The cost is $89.49 each. Our organization is going to pay for the rooms for the boys. (Possibly pay for the chaperons as well)
