Two Championship Games Today!

images

The MTAC Varsity Championship games are today in White House, TN and you’ll recognize two of the teams that are in the finals. The Lady Trailblazers are playing against Riverside Christian Academy for the Conference Championship at 4:00pm and the Boys Varsity team is playing against Tennessee Heat for the Conference Championship at 6:00pm.

Please consider making the easy 45 minute drive down to 506 Hester Drive to cheer on these two teams. Bring as many of your friends and family as possible to support our players as they each go for their first ever championship!

Girls Camp with Mary Taylor Cowles

The camp with Coach Cowles has been confirmed for next week. Please meet at Phil Moore Park from 5:30-7:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We will not have the camp on Friday due to a previously scheduled game for the girls in Morgantown.

The cost for this camp is $30 per family. We look forward to seeing everyone who is planning on playing Lady Trailblazer games this season.

Thanks!

2016-17 Trailblazers Parent Meeting

To kick off the 2016-17 season, we will have the annual parent meeting at 6:30pm on Thursday, August 4th at the Hancock Bank building at 2501 Crossings Blvd. The registration deadline will be August 31st. Forms are now available at wkytrailblazers.com and will also be available at the parent meeting. Feel free to go ahead and register online. Payment options are available through the PayPal link on the site.

Please carefully read the Code of Conduct prior to the parent meeting. One significant change is in reference to player participation in tournaments which happen over holiday weekends, spring break, etc. The new text reads as follows:
“Players are required to attend any regional and national tournaments scheduled by the Trailblazers. Players are learning and growing together as a team throughout the year and to disrupt the unity of the team due to someone not attending a tournament would be unfair to the whole team, which works together to perform their best at a competitive tournament.”

We look forward to seeing everyone there at 6:30pm on August 4th.

Announcement

Hello all,

Layne Holloway has decided to step away from coaching the Trailblazers this season. We all owe Layne a debt of gratitude for the 5 years of coaching that he volunteered to the Trailblazers organization. He has helped our players greatly through his gracious contribution to their development, as evidenced by three players receiving college basketball scholarships this season.

We will have a ceremony honoring Layne at some point during the upcoming season. Stay tuned for announcements regarding the coaching staff for 2016-17.
